THINKWATER Ludlow
Ludlow College, Ludlow 21, South Shropshire Furniture Scheme and other partners working together to bring alive social and environmental issues
THINKWATER, a Ludlow 21 project, started in June 2009 with A-Level art and design students at Ludlow College briefed to design material for a water value campaign in Ludlow.
One thing leads to another. The Thinkwater experience has created our Thinkwater process, and a great 2010 project "Funky Furniture - CHAIR" with South Shropshire Furniture Scheme. Thanks to SSFS, this project has won a national award . The Funky theme and brief carried on into the 2011 project, BEDROOM. The project included "making" workshops for the students, thanks to Skillbuilders, to show some of the key skills for furniture-making. BEDROOM has produced some more superb pieces, and right now (early 2012) we are planning how best to exhibit and promote these locally and nationally. Photos will be available here soon.
